After 10 days in the camping car we were ready to head back to Laura the canal boat so this stage of our adventures could begin. We had to buy bedding, crockery, food – pretty much everything so that Laura could become our home. Of course the first item in the pantry was a jar of Vegemite we’d brought from Australia.
We took a trip to Dijon to Ikea to buy all of our gear for the canal boat. Here’s Ivan enjoying an Ikea beer in their restaurant.
We needed bikes so we visited a bike shop in Dijon. The sales people spoke very little English and our French was still very basic but we managed to buy two really good mountain bikes for €500 each. Just to illustrate the limited English of the sales person, have a look at the shirt of the guy near Ivan. Hmmm. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that his shirt doesn’t make sense.
The first night staying on the canal boat we had a BBQ using all our new gear. Ivan excelled himself
